What
we do

Bio Blue is an integrated platform for biomethane production, feedstock sourcing and circular offtake. We transform local organic residues into grid-quality biomethane and valuable circular co-products.

Anaerobic
Co-Digestion

Every Bio Blue facility is centered on anaerobic digestion: a proven biological process that breaks down organic material without oxygen, producing renewable energy and nutrient-rich by-products. By combining multiple locally sourced feedstocks through co-digestion, we increase process stability and maximise energy yields, even from residual streams that are otherwise difficult to valorise. Our feedstock mix includes:

    such as waste water & derivatives.

  • Pre-treatment

    Mechanical, thermal, chemical and biological pre-treatment processes optimise a wide range of feedstocks for digestion, improving stability and increasing biogas yields.

  • Post-treatment

    After digestion, high-performance seperation, drying, water recycling, and nutrient recovery systems help extract maximum value and support a fully circular use of resources.

Bio Blue combines advanced pre- and post-processing technologies to maximise stability, flexibility and resource efficiency throughout the digestion process.

From biogas to grid-quality biomethane

Most biogas produced at our facilities is upgraded to biomethane by removing CO₂, water and trace components. Once refined to grid quality, this renewable gas is injected into the natural gas network, directly replacing fossil gas in homes, industry and transport. Anaerobic digestion creates value in three ways:

  • Energy

    Biogas powers a CHP unit that supplies heat and electricity to the plant, supporting energy self-sufficiency

  • Biomethane

    Biogas is upgraded for injection into the gas grid

  • Digestate

    A nutrient-rich output with valuable fertiliser components

The CO₂ released during upgrading is biogenic,  part of the natural carbon cycle, and can be captured, stored or reused in in horticulture, food&beverage applications or as input for e-fuels.

Closing the nutrient loop

After digestion, digestate is separated and further processed into natural fertiliser, returning nutrients to farmland and improving soil health while reducing reliance on synthetic fertilisers.
